Material Care & Maintenance
Veneers
Wipe with a dry or barely damp soft cloth — standing water and harsh cleaners can lift the finish over time. Keep veneer surfaces out of direct, prolonged sunlight where possible, since UV exposure will gradually shift the tone of any real wood surface.
Laminates & Acrylic
A mild soap solution and soft cloth handles daily grime; avoid abrasive scrubbers on high-gloss and acrylic surfaces, since they will dull the reflective finish permanently, unlike a laminate's printed layer which is more scratch-tolerant underneath its protective overlay.
Hardware
Wipe handles and visible hinges with a dry cloth regularly — moisture combined with dust accelerates finish wear on chrome and brass fittings faster than dust alone. Lubricate soft-close mechanisms per the manufacturer's schedule, typically annually, to keep the closing action smooth.
Flooring
Engineered wood and laminate flooring should be cleaned with a damp (not wet) mop — standing water is the most common cause of premature swelling at plank joints. SPC and vinyl flooring tolerate wet mopping without issue, which is exactly why we recommend them for kitchens.
