The Brief
A retail client fitting out a new storefront needed display units and counters that would hold up under continuous customer handling and daily cleaning, on a fit-out timeline measured in weeks rather than months.
The Material Approach
Compact laminate was specified for counters and display shelving — its solid, self-supporting core handles constant handling far better than faced laminate on a board substrate would. WPC louvers created a ventilated, textured facade section at the storefront entrance, giving the shop a distinct street presence without a full masonry redesign.
Speed and Stock Availability
Because compact laminate and WPC louvers were in regular stock rather than special-order items, fabrication could begin within days of finalising the design, which was the deciding factor in meeting the client's launch timeline.
Outcome
The fit-out has been in continuous daily retail use, and the project is a good reference point for other commercial clients asking what "durable enough for retail" actually means in material terms rather than marketing language.
